Safeguarding Policy

Wandering Tao is fully committed to ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all our members, particularly children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We recognise our strict duty of care and maintain rigorous child protection standards aligned with UK legislation and best practice recommendations from the NSPCC, the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU), and the British Martial Arts And Boxing Association (BMABA).

Our Core Principles
  • Paramount Welfare: The safety and well-being of the individual always come first, superseding the interests of any instructor, club, or organisation.
  • Equal Protection: Every member has an equal right to protection from abuse or discrimination, regardless of age, gender, background, or ability.
  • Shared Responsibility: Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility—our instructors undergo regular training, and parents and students are actively encouraged to speak up.
  • Safer Recruitment: All staff and volunteers undergo rigorous background checks, including enhanced DBS disclosures, before working with our members.
